  • Immediate evacuation of the entire building is essential upon discovery of a fire or upon sounding of the alarms. Do NOT attempt to go back into the building. Do NOT attempt to remove vehicles from the car park.

  • Exit via emergency stairwells

    • In the event of an emergency, battery operated EXIT SIGNS and LIGHTS will illuminate over every exit.

    • Follow the EXIT signs all the way down the stairs.

  • Do NOT use the lifts and IMMEDIATELY follow instructions of wardens.

  • All doors to the stairs are Smoke-Stop doors. It is essential they are closed. A life may depend upon it.

  • If the car park roller door to the street is closed, follow the clear instructions printed just inside the door.

  • Club staff are trained to react appropriately in an emergency situation. Trial evacuations are held regularly. Building systems are tested monthly.

  • Floor wardens (senior staff) are appointed to evacuate each floor. They will ensure that every room is clear.

  • The building is fitted with Automatic water Sprinkler and Detector systems and fire extinguishers. Manual fire alarms and hose reels are located on each floor. The Fire Service is linked automatically to our fire alarm system.

  • In the event of a fire, the lifts automatically go to the ground floor and the doors will remain open. The street-front glass doors will also automatically open.

Assembly Area

The outside assembly area is the Plaza garden area outside 80 The Terrace. Do not linger around the main entrance. Do not return to the building for any reason until the Wardens indicate it is safe. The wardens will liaise with the Fire Chief or Civil Defence staff.
